Bring a Buddy to School!

It is time to bring a little buddy to school for our annual READY, SET, LEARN event.

Ready, Set, Learn is an initiative designed to connect families with preschool aged children with their local elementary school.

Students in grades 2 – 7 from our school may invite a 3 or 4 year old friend to join them at school for various centres on May 23rd, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.. We are only able to accommodate 15 children, so registration is mandatory.

Please note, the little buddy’s parent or caregiver must remain in the gym for this event.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. McKeen at the school (250-782-8403)

The City is looking for non-profit volunteer groups willing to complete the work, as well as registering people in need of the service until Monday, April 15, 2019.

The City pays volunteer groups $40.00 per single lot, $80.00 per corner or double lot and more (as approved) for larger properties.  The work consists of raking/shovelling/power sweeping the gravel from boulevards out onto the street.  (The gravel does NOT need to be removed from the street by the volunteers – the city street sweeper machines pick up the gravel after the work has been completed.)

Please contact me by email or phone if interested.

ljohnsen@dawsoncreek.ca or 250-784-3600.  Thanks!  Lesly

Testimony from a parent:  I found the best treatment out there that actually kills the lice and all nits- with a thorough comb thru with the head lice comb. The woman’s name is Toni and her business is Lice Strategies. She works out of Grande Prairie and she will deliver the treatment via purolator or one can go pick it up.  The website islicestrategies.com and her phone number is 780-380-LICE.
It is the best treatment and really works.
